92% of Parents are Facebook Friends with Their Kids

The internet and social media has undoubtedly taken a strong hold of our daily lives in the past several years. Facebook is virtually unavoidable, and youth are increasingly becoming affluent in the new social media culture. With more kids, tweens, and teenagers embracing the internet realm, are parents forced to keep a close eye on their children’s activities within platforms such as Facebook? According to a recent report conducted by Lab42, 43% of parents are monitoring closely by checking their children’s Facebook page on a daily bases, while 31% are doing so on a weekly basis. The same study states that 41% of parents are concerned about their children meeting strangers online.
