Most couples who have sex during pregnancy stop having sex after the commencement of the third trimester. This is because they fear that they might poke the baby. Logically, this is not even possible. You should only avoid having sex in the third trimester for the following reasons:
- If there have been other miscarriages and preterm instances in the past, the main cause being having sex.
- When the placenta is blocking your cervix (placenta previa)
- Past PROM occurrences- where the amniotic sac has broken more than 1 hr before the contractions kick off.
- Your doctor has already diagnosed your cervix as weak.
